Halau information

Our mission is to provide a venue in which to experience the opportunity to learn, appreciate and promote the understanding of Hawaiian traditions, mainly through the hula, which utilizes the Hawaiian language, protocols and rituals that embodies the values that govern the culture.

Prospective Hālau,

Mahalo for your interest in participating at “E Hula Mau® 2012,” Southern California’s 18th Annual Hula and Chant Competition.

The event is held during Labor Day Weekend, August 31st, September 1 & 2nd 2012, at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, Terrace Theater.

If you wish to enter into the competition please submit the following:

• A completed Halau Profile
• A DVD of the Halau - Kahiko & ‘Auana performances (must be the group that will be competing)

The E Hula Mau® committee will review your submission and you will receive a reply with further instructions.
